Family Fun Day Review!

Assalamu alaikum warahmatullah!

We would like to say a big thank you for joining us at our Family Fun Day! We were absolutely overwhelmed and humbled with the turnout. Over 120 of you took the time out of your busy schedules and precious weekend to come and support us, alhamdulillah!

Elders, mothers, fathers, youth and children from a wide range of cultural backgrounds all came together as Muslims under one roof. The initial feedback we have received has been extremely positive and encouraging masha-Allah tabarak-Allah. So many of you spoke about how you knew a handful of Muslims in the area and didn’t realise there were this many Muslims living locally.

The event took a LOT of planning, many late nights and a whole heap of dedication to develop this community for the sake of Allah (swt). We thank Allah (swt) for allowing the event to be a success and all stall holders and volunteers for their hard work. We thank Taha Academy, Taleem Institute and Tilbury Education and Cultural Association (Masjid) for their attendance and support. May Allah (swt) reward you all abundantly.

Congratulations to our young brother Rasheed Monir, who was the winner of the sweets competition!

Your big jar of tasty sweets will be with you very soon insha’Allah!

Congratulations to sister Sarah Kayali on winning the Amazon gift voucher!

It will be with you very soon insha’Allah!

One final story we wanted to share. We had one family, a brother with his wife and daughter, who walked for OVER AN HOUR to get to the event-subhanAllahi wa bihamdhi! We were completely speechless at this! This shows the effort that people are willing to go to, to meet with other Muslims in the area and highlights just how much we need this platform to connect.

So what’s next?

We have planned our first workshop on Saturday 15th June 2019 on the new compulsory Relationships and & Sex Education (RE and RSE) curriculum in schools. This is an essential workshop for parents, carers, teachers, imams and mosque committee members. To find out more details and to register, click below.

(Please note: Entry to this workshop is by REGISTRATION ONLY)
