“…Indeed good deeds, take away bad deeds…” (Surah Hud, Verse 114)
Whenever you feel you have done something wrong/sinful, alongside taubah (repentance), quickly perform a good deed. Whether it’s giving charity, reciting some Qur’an, offering 2 rak’aat nafl prayer etc. Consequently, this will remove the ill effects of the mistake first made InshAllah.
“None of you believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself.” (Tirmidhi)
Firstly, we should treat others how we would like to be treated, e.g. you don’t want to be backbitten, so don’t backbite others. Secondly, we should place ourselves in someone else’s shoes and think, what would I have desired? And then desire the same for them. If we lived by this hadith then most of the problems between people would be solved and we would experience true brotherhood.
“Glory is to Allah and praise is to Him, by the multitude of his creation, by His Pleasure, by the weight of His Throne, and by the extent of His Words” (Muslim)
During your lifetime, you may have missed many fard salaah. Salaah will be the first thing you will be questioned about on the day of judgment. Calculate the number of missed salaah you may have and start making them up (Qadha) in this blessed month.
