Thurrock Muslim Parents Society aims to inspire, encourage and empower Muslims to strengthen their religious identities. By connecting with others in our local community, we can share our skills, knowledge, resources and experiences to learn from each other. This will help us in managing the various aspects of modern-day life as a Muslim, such as parenting challenges, cultivating strong Muslim identities in our children, connecting socially with other Muslims in the area, addressing current issues in the media and engaging with the wider community.
As Muslims, our Islamic values and principles are fundamental to the way in which we live, both privately within our own homes and publicly in the broader society. The family unit is a compilation of differing personalities and motivations, sometimes conflicting. Strengthening the family unit, the cornerstone of our communities, is vital in developing a stronger Ummah bi’ithnillah (by the permission of Allah).
Thurrock Muslim Parents Society is based on these principles:
- Honesty – Being transparent and open in everything
- Respect – Respecting each others differences
- Accountability – To those whom we serve and to Allah (swt)
The future of this community is in our hands. Let us work together and unite for success in this life and the next insha’Allah (if Allah wills).
Be a community that calls for what is good, urges what is right, and forbids what is wrong: those who do this are the successful ones.Surah Al-Imran 3:104

Umm Hafsah – Co Founder
Umm Hafsah is a mother of three and has worked in NHS Psychological Services for over seven years, and in several non-statutory Mental Health services prior to that. She has a BSc in Experimental Psychology and a PGDip in Psychological Interventions. She holds an Islamic Counselling NVQ2 and is currently studying to become a qualified Islamic NLP Practitioner.
She has worked individually and in groups, with hundreds of people from various backgrounds, who faced issues with depression, anxiety, stress, time and anger management, goal setting and self-esteem, to name a few.
